Food and Cooking Collection
This online collection includes food and cooking related materials from the collections of the State Archives of North Carolina. It is intended to offer an overview of available materials in our collections and is not an exhaustive survey of all food and cooking items. The collection began as part of the 2013 North Carolina Archives Week celebration; the theme for 2013 was “Home Grown! A Celebration of N.C. Food Culture and History.”
The Food and Cooking Online Collection currently includes cookbooks, recipes, court transcripts, and trademark applications from these collections:
- Lillian Dodd Collection (PC.150)
- Lucy Williams Polk Papers (PC.75)
- Secretary of State Records (MARS Id: 12.26 (Series)), including food related trademark applications from 1910-1930.
- Supreme Court Records, Original Case File (MARS Id.: 69.2 (Series)), including selected court transcripts relating to moonshine cases.
